Problem

You are unable to announce a course because you don’t see the course type in the course type drop-down or  you are unable to add yourself as a teacher for a course type while announcing the course

Solution

There could be multiple reasons for this problem - let’s go over each of them.

Issue Possibilities

The course type you want to announce

1 - is not added against the teacher’s record in Harmony.

2 - is not enabled in Harmony

3 - has course announcement privileges only with the national administrator  

4 - is not available in Harmony

If you are a teacher then you would need to reach out to your country’s national administrator to check the above possibilities.

The national administrator can either follow the steps or watch a quick video to check each possibility.




1 - The course type, the teacher wants to announce is not added in his teacher’s record in Harmony

Steps

1 - On the ‘find teacher’s page, under the ‘Teachers’ menu, look for the teacher who is unable to announce the course using ‘edit search criteria’

2 - Edit the teacher’s record to see if the course type is added in the record

In case the course type is not added, then that would be the reason for the teacher not to be able to announce the course. You can add the course type (Link to an article on how to add/ edit a teacher) so the teacher can go ahead and announce the course. If the course type is added, then check for other issue possibilities.




2 & 3 ) The course type the teacher wants to announce is not enabled in Harmony or has course announcement privileges only with the ‘national administrator’.

Steps

1 - Go to ‘Manage course types’ under the ‘system settings’ menu and look for the course type the teacher is unable to announce.

2 - On the ‘manage course types’ page, check if the course type is ‘enabled or ‘disabled’.

You can also edit the course type fee record to see if teachers have the privileges to announce the course type.

In case the course type is disabled or only the national administrator has the course announcement privileges then the teacher will not able to announce the course type. You will need to enable the course type (in case disabled) (link it to a video on enabling/ disabling the course type) and give teacher’s the course announcement privileges for him to be able to announce it.

In case the course type is enabled and the teachers have the course announcement privileges then check for other issue possibilities.





4 - The course type you want to announce is not available in Harmony

In case the course type the teacher is wanting to announce is not available in Harmony under ‘Manage Course types’ and you would like to add it, then raise an issue with us.
