Presenting the new set of features as a part of our regular Harmony upgrade. Most of these features will be available by default on all country instances.

Features

1 - Earlier the participant had to fill out several sections of the registration form to be able to see the fees of the course. Now the fee can be viewed by the participant without them having to fill in any section.

2 - The presentation (color and style) of the fee summary appearing at the bottom of the screen has been improved to make it more obvious to the participants.

The date of birth selection field has been modified making it easier for the participants to select their birth year by scrolling down, which is more intuitive than scrolling up like it was earlier.

Teachers and organizers now have the ability to create custom discount codes instead of always having to use system generated discount codes. This will be very useful in distinguishing and promoting discounts for specific events. For example on a Christmas Special Event one could create a discount code such as ‘’CHRISTMAS10’.

In the previous release, we had done some enhancements to support online courses. Similar enhancements have now been done to support online events. These will be available by May 29, 2020.

4.1  - New setting for online event types

There is an additional field - ‘Show online meeting URL’ available to National Admin for online event types on the ‘Edit Event Type’ page. This field, if set to ‘yes’ requires the teachers to add an online meeting URL while announcing an event on the ‘New Event’ page.

4.2  Address is Hidden for Online events on the website

For all events of this event type, the address is not shown on the website (event details page). However the address fields are available in Harmony on the new event page so it’s easier to generate reports.

4.3  Ability to add online meeting URL

A new field now added on the New Event Page requires the teachers to add an online meeting URL while announcing an online course (only if the ‘Show online meeting URL field on the new event page?’ is set to ‘Yes’ under system settings by country admin).

The participant confirmation email for online events includes a button that takes the participant to this online meeting URL.

The good news for teachers is that in case the online meeting URL is updated by the teacher later, Harmony takes care of redirecting the participants to the latest URL even though some participants might have received the confirmation email before the URL was updated.

Unlike earlier where only 4 program organizers could be added on a course or event, now upto 10 program organizers can be added.

Once an event’s maximum event capacity is reached, Harmony now automatically sends an email notification to the event organizers. This allows the organizer to determine if they need to edit the event capacity, or if they are promoting the event, if they need to stop promotions.

Earlier the ‘city’ field on the ‘new course’ and ‘new event’ page was a text field - which led to ‘duplicate’ cities getting created with slight variations in names and sometimes with typos. This affected the data shown in reports generated for such cities. To prevent this, city selection is now a drop down.

Similar to the report we have for courses, we now have a discount code usage summary report for events. This report provides a list of the discount codes used with an option to drill down to see participant level information.

The new information text added next to the revenue on the course and event header explains how the revenue is calculated making it clearer for the teachers and organizers.

A new field - ‘Event Type’ has been added to the new discount code creation page for events. This field allows the national admins to select the event type and create the discount code applicable for all courses of that event type.

Earlier Bird Fee was a mandatory field and the event organizers were forced to enter an early bird price even when there was no early bird fee for the event. There is now a checkbox which allows the organizers to enable / disable the early bird fee field as required.

Course timings are now included in the registration confirmation email making it easier for the participants to remember / fetch the course schedule and join the sessions accordingly.

13 - New Country Roll-outs

Harmony has been rolled out to Myanmar and Laos in April 2020.

1 - Refunds from Harmony for alternate Stripe payment methods have been enabled for Netherlands and Germany

2 -New payment method - Klarna (Pay Later) had been added for Germany

3 - New payment gateway - 3TECH has been roll out for Panama

5 - New payment gateway  had been rolled out for Uruguay’s second organization

6 - Some additional Payment methods have been added for Panama

For marketing event types, national marketing admins can now

1- Access to all events created by other national marketing admins of a country

2 - Create and find course and event discount codes

3 -Have access to the discount code usage summary report

Earlier all recurring event instances were shown under the ‘Find events’ page leading to a cluttered view, with the user not knowing if certain instances were part of the same repeating series or not. Now, by default, for events with recurring instances, only one parent event is shown, with a link to view all instances under that event.

The revenue and participant count shown against the parent event includes a total of the revenue and participants respectively across all event instances under it. Revenue and participant count shown against the child event instance is only specific to the child event.

In case assisted registration is done on a parent event, then the organizer or teacher is required to select a date (child event) for which they want to do the registration. However, if an assisted registration is done for a child event then this date selection is not asked of the user.
