We are pleased to announce that we have made some enhancements to support online courses.
1 - New settings for online course types
There are two new settings that have been added that need to be done for each course type on the ‘edit course type’ page.
The first setting ’Is this an online course?’ allows the admins to select or determine if a course type is online course type or not. In case the setting is set to ‘Yes’’ then
For all courses of this course type, the address is not shown on the website (course details page). However the address fields are available in Harmony on the new course page so it’s easier to generate reports.
One the ‘edit course type’ page, a second related setting appears ‘Show online meeting URL field on new course page?’ which if set to yes requires the teachers to add an online meeting URL while announcing a course on the ‘new course’ page.
2 - Ability to add online meeting URL
A new field now added on the New Course Page requires the teachers to add an online meeting URL while announcing an online course (only if the ‘Show online meeting URL field on the new course page?’ is set to ‘Yes’ under system settings by country admin).
The participant confirmation email for online courses includes a button that takes the participant to this online meeting URL
The good news for teachers is that in case the online meeting URL is updated by the teacher later, Harmony takes care of redirecting the participants to the right URL even though some participants might have received the confirmation email before the URL was updated.
